Our community values

Cece's Kitchn is built by home cooks for home cooks. Be warm, be honest, and lift other people's cooking up. The kitchen is everyone's table.

Respectful conduct

Disagree with care. Critique the recipe, not the cook. Assume good faith and ask before you correct.

Recipe quality standards

Recipes should be cookable: clear ingredient amounts, ordered steps, and a real photo when you can. Test before you publish.

Allowed

  • Personal stories and family roots
  • Substitutions and variations
  • Real-kitchen photos (even imperfect)
  • Honest reviews and tested notes

Not allowed

  • Untested or unsafe instructions
  • Stock photos passed off as yours
  • Recipes copied without credit
  • Affiliate spam and link farms

Creator responsibilities

If you publish, you're responsible for accuracy, allergen notes, and responding to questions in a reasonable timeframe.

Authenticity requirements

Be who you say you are. No impersonating chefs, brands, or other cooks. One person, one primary account.

Spam & manipulation

No vote rings, fake reviews, mass-follow campaigns, or paid engagement. Engagement should come from cooking the food.

Harassment & abuse

Zero tolerance for hate speech, threats, doxing, or sexual harassment. Violations lead to immediate action — see Enforcement below.

Misinformation

Don't make medical, nutritional, or safety claims you can't back up. Be especially careful with canning, fermentation, and allergen substitutions.

Intellectual property

Recipes aren't copyrightable but the words, photos, and videos you write are. Don't paste someone else's headnote, photo, or step-by-step copy.

AI content expectations

AI-assisted is fine. AI-only, untested, and unlabeled is not. Mark AI drafts clearly and cook them before you publish.

Reviews & ratings rules

Rate recipes you've actually made. Reviews are for the dish — share substitutions, tweaks, and outcomes. Personal attacks get removed.

Enforcement actions

Depending on severity: a private nudge, a public warning, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent ban. We document every action.

Appeals process

You can appeal any action by emailing appeals@cecesrecipes.com. A different reviewer than the one who took the original action will respond within 7 days.
