Who owns recipes

You do. Cece's Kitchn never takes ownership of the recipes, photos, videos, or stories you publish. We're a kitchen wall, not a vault.

Platform license

We can show, host & share — never own

Ownership stays with you the whole way down.

Creator ownership

Every recipe is tied to you (or your kitchen). If you leave, your content leaves with you — we provide a one-click export.

Rights granted to Cece's Kitchn

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, format, and share your content on Cece's surfaces (web, mobile, email, embeds). That license ends when you delete the content.

AI-generated recipes

Recipes drafted entirely by our AI are owned by the user who generated them, subject to the same rules as any other recipe.

AI-assisted recipes

When AI helps you edit a step or suggest a substitution, the recipe is still yours. Label AI-assisted content honestly.

Recipe remixes

A remix is its own recipe with a credit link back to the original. The remixer owns the remix; the original creator keeps the original.

Imported recipes

Imports always land as private drafts so you can review, edit, and credit the source before publishing. Importing someone else's content without permission is not allowed.

Monetization rights

Creators keep monetization rights on tips, memberships, courses, and cookbook sales. Cece's takes a transparent platform fee disclosed at the time of payout.

Membership content rights

Member-only recipes, posts, and courses are yours. Members get a license to view; they don't get the right to redistribute.

Collection rights

Curators own the structure and notes of their collections. Recipes inside a collection remain owned by the original creator.

Cookbook rights

When you publish a cookbook on Cece's, you keep print and digital rights everywhere — we're a distribution channel, not a publisher.

Meal kit rights

Meal kits prepared from your recipes still credit you. Fulfilment partners can't use your name or photos outside the kit listing without your okay.

Termination & content removal

Delete a recipe and our license to it ends — we stop showing it, remove it from collections, and purge it from caches on a reasonable schedule.

Heads up

Backups: deleted content can persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before being purged.

Copyright complaints

See our DMCA & Copyright Policy for filing a notice or counter-notice.
